Beliefs and customs must be protected: Rahul Gandhi
Pathanamthitta: Congress president Rahul Gandhi said his party wanted to protect the beliefs and customs of everyone. “Beliefs and customs must be expressed. But it should not lead to violence,” Rahul said while addressing a UDF campaign meeting here on Tuesday.
“The Congress will never be against people expressing and performing their beliefs and customs. I leave that matter to the logic of the people of Kerala. They have the power to take decisions,” said the Congress president. Rahul made the statements on safeguarding beliefs and customs without mentioning Sabarimala.
The state government should be ready to do everything possible for flood victims, he said and added that if the Congress comes to power, the government would provide great help for flood victims.
Rahul said that though he may not be able to learn Malayalam completely, he knows several words and can learn several more. Rahul ended his speech extending Vishu and Easter greetings.
