T N Prathapan withdraws himself from poll fray
Thiruvananthapuram: T N Prathapan MLA has submitted a letter to the KPCC expressing his willingness not to contest the Assembly elections. KPCC chief V M Sudheeran read the letter at the meeting of the election committee.
Prathapan said in the letter that he took the decision to give more representation to youths and women.
Prathapan was elected to the Assembly from Nattika in 2001 and 2006, and from Kodungallur in 2011. His decision is likely to put pressure on those who have contested election more than thrice.
The development assumes more significance in the wake of the fact that Prathapan maintains a close relation with Sudheeran.
