Corporate Sports Division, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (ONGC); 1st Floor, Tower B, Deendayal Urja Bhawan, 5 Nelson Mandela Marg, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi-110070 has invited applications under the ONGC Sports Scholarship Scheme 2022-23.
The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to the upcoming young talented Indian sportspersons who have the potential to excel in their respective sports and to help them pursue their dream, bring acclaim & laurels to the country and inspire younger generation for engaging in sports activities.
A total of 250 Scholarships will be given for men and women under Senior (150 nos), Junior (75) and Sub Junior (25) categories for the following Games/Disciplines (as applicable): Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Billiards & Snooker, Carrom, Chess, Cricket, Football, Golf, Hockey, Kabaddi, Squash, Table Tennis, Tennis, Volleyball, Swimming, Archery, Boxing, Gymnastics, Para Sports, Shooting and Wrestling.
Eligibility: Applicant should be between 14 and 25 years of age as on 1st April 2022 except for Chess, Gymnastics & Swimming for which, the minimum age would be 10 years.
Applicants should not be availing any scholarship / stipend from any other organization during the scholarship period.
Scholarships shall be granted for the remaining period of the financial year 2022-23. Being merit based sports scholarship, each sportsperson will have to apply afresh every year.
Amount of Scholarship: The amount of Scholarship amount per month will be as follows for National Level achievements: Sub Junior -Rs.15000/-; Junior- Rs.20000/-; Senior- Rs.25000/-. For International level achievements, the amounts would be Rs.20000/-; Rs.25000/- and Rs.30000/- respectively.
Benefits & Facilities: SelectedSportspersons may be given chance to represent ONGC Team in PSPB / AIPSSPB and other competitions within country. Such players shall be paid TA / DA and necessary expenditure for participation in the tournaments. They shall also be provided playing kits with ONGC logo which they shall wear during their participation in the competitions. Scholarship holder may avail individual health insurance cover for Rs. 5,00,000/- for self only. The individuals shall acquire requisite health insurance cover on their own and premium upto Rs. 7,000/- shall be reimbursed by ONGC.
Selection: The proficiency of the sports person will be evaluated on the basis of their participation / performance in National & International tournaments / events recognized by National / International Sports Federations / Associations.
