Kerala State Higher Education Council Scholarship: Apply by March 10

Kerala State Higher Education Council, has invited applications for the award of 1000 Higher Education Scholarships for the year, 2022-23.

Eligibility: Applicant should be an Indian National. Applicant should be a student of first year Under Graduate Aided course in Science/Social Science/Humanities/Business Studies in a Government/Aided Arts & Science College or should be studying for identical courses in IHRD Applied Science Colleges during 2022-23. Those undergoing Professional courses or Self-financing courses are not eligible.

Eligibility: Applicant should have passed Plus 2/equivalent examination. For all streams, ST applicants should have pass mark in Plus 2/equivalent examination. Applicants of SC category should have 55% for Science, Humanities & Social Science streams and 60% for Business Studies stream. For Physically Challenged, it will be 45% for all streams. For BPL/OBC, the minimum mark required is 60% for Science, 55% for Humanities & Social Sciences and 65% for Business Studies. For all other categories (General), it is 75% for the Science and Business Studies and 60% for Humanities & Social Sciences streams.

Those in receipt of any other scholarship/stipend, other than fee concession are not eligible for this scholarship. The lump sum grant received by SC/ST students and Hindi Scholarship awarded by Directorate of Collegiate Education does not come under the purview of this clause.

Amount of Scholarship: The Scholarship amount is Rs. 12,000/-, Rs. 18,000/- and Rs. 24,000/- respectively for 1st/2nd/3rd of UG Course. Physically Challenged (minimum 40% disability) will get an additional 25% amount of the normal Scholarship.

Recipients of Scholarships at UG level, continuing for their Post Graduate studies, will get Rs.40,000/- for the first year and Rs.60,000/- for the second year of the PG Course.

Renewal of scholarships after every year will be based on the academic performance of the scholar.

Reservation: Of the total scholarships, 50% will be under the General category. 10% scholarships are reserved for SC/ST, 10% for BPL category, 27% for OBC and 3% for Physically Challenged category.

The scholarships will be distributed among the different streams in proportion to the total seats allotted to each stream in each University.

Application: Application can be submitted online at https://www.scholarship.kshec.kerala.gov.in latest by 10.3.2023, following the instructions there. The detailed Guidelines are also available at this link.

The Printout of the Registration form has to be submitted to the Head of the Institution, with supporting documents, latest by 17th March 2023.

Institution level verification and approval is to be completed by 28th March 2023.
