Scholarships for forward communities for Diploma/Certificate Courses
Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala State Welfare Corporation for Forward Castes has invited applications from economically backward students of forward communities in the state, studying for Diploma/Certificate Courses, for the award of Vidya Samunnithi Scholarships for 2017-18.
The total number of scholarships under this scheme will be 1000 and the amount of scholarship will be Rs.6000 for 2017-18.
Applicants should be from a caste in Kerala State, not having any reservation benefits and should be studying in a Government Institution or a Government recognised Institution for a Diploma/Certificate Programme during 2017-18.
Those studying for the Diploma Programme should have passed SSLC/equivalent examination with minimum of 70% marks/B+ Grade. Those studying for Certificate Programmes should have passed SSLC/equivalent examination with minimum of 60% marks/B grade. The annual family income of the applicants from all sources should not exceed Rs.2 lakh. Applicant should be having an Account in any branch of a Nationalized or Scheduled Bank. Scholarship if sanctioned will be transferred to this account only.
Those in receipt of other scholarships or any stipend from the State/Central Government are not eligible for this scholarship.
Application for scholarship has to be submitted online at www.kswcfc.org latest by 15.11.2017. Before applying, applicant should do one-time registration in the ‘Data Bank’ at www.kswcfc.org. Application for the scholarship has to be submitted using the Registration Number received after the registration. Those who have already completed the Data Bank Registration in previous years can apply for the Scholarship, using the Registration number received then.
Applicants will be required to upload the following documents during online submission of application (i) Certificate in the prescribed format available in the website, from the Head of the Institution where the applicant is studying (ii) Income Certificate issued by the Village Officer (iii) Mark list of SSLC/Equivalent (iv)) Copy of the first page of the Bank passbook showing the Account Number, Branch etc (v) Copy of the Aadhar Card. These documents have to be scanned and uploaded along with the application.
Provision will be there to correct the information submitted in the application, till the last date of submission of applications.
Printout of the application and copies of the documents scanned and uploaded need not be forwarded to the KSFCWC.
Since there is no provision for the renewal of scholarships awarded in a year, those who have received the scholarship earlier and wish to get the scholarship again this year, have to apply afresh this year.
Scholarships will be awarded subject to the release of funds from the Government. Priority will be given to those with low income while preparing the select list for awarding scholarships.
