Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has invited applications for the CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child for + 2 studies, 2020.
The objective of the scheme is to provide scholarships to meritorious Single Girl Students, who are the only child of their parents; and have passed the CBSE Class X Examination with 60% or more marks and are continuing their further school education of Class XI and XII. The scheme is aimed to recognize the efforts of the parents in promoting education among girls and to provide encouragement to meritorious students. All children born together are Single Girl Child of their parents.
The scholarship will be awarded to all such ‘Single Girl Students’ who have secured 60% or more marks in the CBSE Class X Examination in 2020.
The amount of scholarship will be Rs. 500/- per month. Payment will be made through ECS/NEFT. A Scholarship awarded under the scheme will be paid for a maximum period of two years.
Eligibility: Applicant should be an Indian National, single girl childand should have passed CBSE Class X Examination in 2020 with at least 60% marks. The student must continue her school studies in Class XI and XII in schools affiliated with CBSE whose tuition fee is not more than Rs. 1,500/- p.m. during the academic year. In the next two years, the total enhancement in tuition fee in such school shall not be more than 10% of the tuition fee charged.
NRI students of the Board are also eligible for the award. The tuition fee for NRIs has been decided at a maximum of Rs. 6,000/- per month.
A Scholar under the scheme can enjoy other concession(s) given by the school in which she is studying other organization(s), while availing this scholarship.
Application: Application can be submitted online at the link at the Scholarships link of https://cbse.nic.in/newsite/student.html, latest by 10 December 2020. Renewal: Applications have also been invited for renewal of CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child X Pass awarded in 2019. Applications for renewal can be submitted online at https://cbse.nic.in/newsite/student.html latest by 10 December 2020.
In case of renewal applications, the hard copy of application form has to be sent to the ‘Assistant Secretary (Scholarship), CBSE, Shiksha Kendra, 2 Community Centre, Preet Vihar, Delhi-110 092’ in a cover super-scribed, ‘Application For CBSE Merit Scholarship For SGC X (Renewal-2019), to reach by 28th December, 2020.
