University of Sydney has invited applications for the Dr Abdul Kalam International Postgraduate Scholarship instituted in recognition of Dr Abdul Kalam’s contribution to his profession and to celebrate his commitment to education, and his endeavours to support outstanding students to develop as future leaders.
Eligibility: Applicants must be an international student and must have an unconditional offer of admission for a Masters by coursework program in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Sydney. Applicants must have achieved a minimum distinction average (equivalent to 75 at the University of Sydney) in their undergraduate studies. Applicants must enrol full-time in the semester immediately following award of this scholarship.
Those who have already commenced their postgraduate studies in the Faculty of Engineering or who have transferred from another postgraduate program are not eligible.
Selection: The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit.
Benefits: The Scholarship is valued at 50% of the tuition fees and is tenable for one year only. The Scholarship will be processed for each relevant semester. The recipient will be required to pay for all relocation expenses to Sydney including airfares, overseas health cover, Student Amenities Fees, and any other costs associated with their studies.
Ongoing eligibility: To continue receipt of the Scholarship, the recipient must maintain a minimum Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 65 each semester. The recipient of the Scholarship is also required to enrol as a full-time international student and must maintain their international student status for the full duration of their Scholarship. Recipients undertaking an exchange during the tenure of this Scholarship are required to have achieved a Satisfied Requirements grade (SR) to receive their next payment.
