2020 Commonwealth Master's Scholarship in UK
Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India has invited entries from Indian nationals for the ‘2020 Commonwealth Master's Scholarship’ in the United Kingdom.
The scholarships is awarded for pursuing one year Master's Degree Courses (except MBA), in UK, commencing in September/October 2020. The Scholarships are offered by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC), UK. Applicants must note that Master Degree programs which are less than 2 years in duration are not equivalent to Master Degree in India.
Number of nominations: CSC will make 39 nominations and will tentatively inform the MHRD Ministry of the selected candidates by June 2020.

Themes: Commonwealth Master's Scholarship is offered under the following themes-Science and technology for development; Strengthening health systems and capacity; Promoting global prosperity; Strengthening global peace, security and governance; Strengthening resilience and response to crises; Access, inclusion and opportunity.
Eligibility: Applicant must be a Citizen of India and also a permanent resident of India. The applicant must be available to start his/her academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September/October 2020. The applicant should have completed or should be expecting to complete his/her Bachelor Degree by October 2020. The applicant must not be able to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship. Applicants are compulsorily required to sign a declaration that they do not have access to sufficient funds to study in the UK. Those who have already been abroad for studies/training/ specialization either on scholarships or on their own, for a period exceeding six months are eligible to apply, if they have been in India for at least two consecutive years as on ‘date’ after returning from abroad.
Applications: Applications are to be submitted online to Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) and also to MHRD, India within the cut-off dates applicable to each. Online application can be submitted to CSC [Online Application System (OAS)] at https://fs29.formsite.com/m3nCYq/iy6rpgiqua/form_login.html, latest by 30th October 2019 and that to MHRD at http://cscuk.dfid.gov.uk/apply/masters-scholarships/, latest by 15 November 2019.
Those in employment, to which they wish to return after completion of their studies in UK, should have an assurance from their organization that on the final selection by the CSC, they will be granted sufficient leave to complete the study.
Selection and nomination: Those who have received an offer of admission from any participating university, must upload a copy of the same on the Ministry’s portal at the time of online application, failing which their candidature will not be considered. In case there are more number of students than the available nominations, ranking of the University as per the ‘QS Ranking 2020’ would be taken to draw up the merit list. Theme-wise nomination would be made. The nominated candidates will be informed through e-mail and through public notice on the Ministry's website.
