Thrissur: Students are scrambling for certificates after the announcement that bonus points will be awarded to winners of LS/US Scholarship exams during the Plus One admission process. Students who completed their 10th standard this year wrote the LSS exam in 2016. The enquiries received by the AEO offices of the state reveal that many of the winners of the scholarship exams do not have certificates with them.

There are only a few AEO offices which have details of the winners of the scholarship exam held in 2016. By giving the registration number on the Pareeksha Bhavan website, students can check whether they have passed or not. But those without certificates don’t have the hall tickets with them either.

The decision taken this year was that the LSS certificate may be used as a tiebreaker during the admission process. The LS scholarship exam is written by children in Class 4 and the US scholarship exam by those in Class 7. Though it has been several years since these exams were first introduced, this is the first time they are getting consideration in the academic field. The students waiting for Plus One admission appeared for the US scholarship exam in 2019 and most of them have the certificates of this exam.
