Schools in Kerala to reopen on June 1

Thiruvananthapuram: Education minister V Sivankutty announced that the next academic year would start on June 1 with ‘Praveshanolsavam’ (Welcome ceremony). Admission has started from class I to IX.

The state-level inauguration of the welcome ceremony will be held in Thiruvananthapuram. The state-level inauguration of the textbook distribution will be held on April 28 at 10 am at Karamana Higher Secondary School, Thiruvananthapuram. Indent-based textbooks will be distributed to recognised unaided schools as well.

The government will provide handloom uniforms to 9,58,060 children in the aided sector. Rs 120 crore will be spent on this. The state-level inauguration of the uniform distribution will be held on May 6 in Kozhikode.
