Thiruvananthapuram: The working days in vocational higher secondary schools in Kerala has been reduced to 5 days. Saturday will remain a holiday for VHSE students.

Currently, Saturday is a working day for VHSE students in the state. The General Education department has been receiving complaints stating that the 6 working days in a week create mental stress and increase the study load of students.

The total working hours of each course under VHSE has been reduced from 1120 hours to 600 hours as per the National Skills Qualification Framework. The latest revision has been made in view of this revision.

The duration of each period will continue to be one hour. The Public Education Director will revise the timetable.
