Thiruvananthapuram: Malappuram has been ranked first in Kerala with the most number of students who got admission to higher secondary classes. Out of the total 3.67 lakh students who got admission in state, 56,755 students are from Malappuram, informed the General Education Department. Kozhikode ranked second with 37,085 admissions and Thrissur third with 33,040 students. These statistics have come out after the completion of the first supplementary allotment by the Plus One Single window admission system.
In Malappuram, 46,265 students got direct admission. 359 students got admission through sports quota, 3,333 through community quota, 3,101 through management quota and 3,697 through unaided quota. In Kozhikode and Thrissur, the number of direct admissions is 30,677 and 25,605 respectively. Idukki with 10,097 admissions has been ranked last.
A total of 2,94,563 students got direct admissions across the state. 2,336 students got admission through sports quota, 22,047 through community quota, 28,245 through management quota and 19,830 through unaided quota. There was a total of 4,71,849 applicants.
Can apply for transfer
The school-level vacancies after the first supplementary allotment will be published on Thursday at 9 am. This is for school/combination transfer allotment. Those who gained admission in merit quota through single window system can apply for transfer. The online registration window will be open from Thursday at 10 am to Friday 5 pm.
