National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Chennai, has invited applications for admission to the One-Year PG Diploma (Hybrid) in Fashion Innovation and Sustainable Design for Circularity conducted in partnership with United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
Circular fashion is a system where our clothing and personal belongings are produced through a more considered model, where the production of an item and the end of its life are equally as important.
The course enables one to learn how to navigate material diversity, technologies ecological sustainability and ethical practices and apply them for Sustainable Fashion.
The Program aims to (i) build an understanding of concepts, relevance and importance of Sustainable Fashion and Circularity (ii) identify the role of traditional and emerging material diversity, technologies, ecological sustainability and ethical practices and apply them for Sustainable Fashion (iii) inculcate circular design principles and methods for innovative fashion product Development (iv) integrate sustainability and design innovations in the existing business models to gain competitive advantage. The duration of the programme is One Year (2 Semesters of 14 weeks Each) and will be held during 3rd week of February 2023 & February 2024. There are 35 seats for the Program.
Applicant should hold an Undergraduate Degree/Diploma in any discipline from any Institute /University recognized by law in India. Though not a pre-requisite, concern and leaning towards issues of sustainability and circularity will make the candidate’s application stronger.

List of eligible candidate for interview will be published on the website by 4th week of January 2023.
Interview for eligible candidates will be during 1st week of February 2023 after which the final short-listed candidate list will be published on the website.
Classes commence in the 3rd week of February 2023.
