NUALS to open MK Damodaran Centre on April 4

Kochi: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate Senior Advocate M. K. Damodaran International Centre of Excellence in Law at the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) here on April 4 at 3.30 pm. P. Rajeeve, Minister for Law and Industries will preside over the function and the office inauguration will be done by Dr R Bindu, Minister for Higher Education.

MP Hibi Eden will launch the official website of the centre. Advocate General K Gopalakrishna Kurup, Anil Kumar K N, Chairman, Bar Council of Kerala, Seema Kannan, Chairperson, Kalamassery Municipality, Dr KC Sunny, Vice-Chancellor and Mahadev MG, Registrar will address the function.

The Centre is aimed at ensuring that lawyers, teachers, students, Government officials, social workers and elected representatives of people are trained and sensitised to support the cause of the needy by offering short term courses and undertaking research projects. The centre will also offer skill acquisition programmes, development of ICT based learning materials, socio-legal surveys, research publications and assisting the government in policy formulations.
