Thiruvananthapuram: In the wake of rising concern over the change in the academic calendar, the Director of General Education on Friday announced that Saturdays will not be working days for higher secondary and vocational higher secondary students in the state.
However, there will be 13 working Saturdays for other classes. This includes June 3.
The academic calendar was modified to ensure a minimum of 210 working days in schools.
Meanwhile, the decision does not apply to pre-primary schools as they do not come under the ambit of the academic calendar.
