Kochi: Since hundreds of seats lying vacant in various centres, the Calicut University has invited applications for a second entrance examination for admission to Master of Computer Applications-MCA for the academic year 2015-16. As many as 185 MCA seats are lying vacant in various University centres. Among them, Edakkara centre has the highest number of vacant seats, ie 29. Second in the list is Thiroor Centre with 23 seats. Hence, the University has decided to conduct a second entrance examination to fill such seats. As part of the procedure, the University published a re-notification today on its website for admission. Eligibility for admission
a. Candidate should have passed any bachelor’s degree under 10+2+3 pattern of education with Computer Science/Computer Application/Mathematics/Statistics/ Engineering & Technology as one of the main or subsidiary subjects with at least 50 % or equivalent CGPA aggregate.
b. A relaxation of 5% mark shall be given to SEBC and PH candidates.
c. SC/ST candidates need to get only a pass in the qualifying examination.
How to apply
1.Applications shall be submitted on line from 13.11.2015. to 23.11.2015 midnight. Please see the link 'fee remittance' in the Admission Website (http://www.cuonline.ac.in) or the link 'instant web payment system' in the Official Website of the University (http://www.universityofcalicut.info) for remitting fee. A fee of Rs.300/- (SC/ST Rs.100/) shall be remitted to Calicut University Fund (Select the purpose 'Fee for MCA Entrance Examination 2015') by e-payment (SBT online/SBT e-chalan/Friends/Akshaya e-chalan).
2.The candidates shall send a print out of the application and the e-chalan receipt (SC/ST candidates shall also attach a copy of the community cerificate along with the application) to the Chief Co-ordinator, CCSIT Centre, Calicut University Campus, University of Calicut, P.O. Calicut University-673635 on or before 25.11.2015. (Candidates need not attach any other documents or photocopies along with the print out of the application). The documents to prove qualifications, community etc shall be prdoduced at the time of Counselling.
3. Applicants can download their hall ticket from the website www.cuonline.ac.in/www.universityofcalicut.info using their online registration number.
