United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF), has invited applications for the Digital Finance Internships, at Multiple locations in Asia.
Digital Financial Services (DFS) refers to a range of formal financial services accessible via digital channels such as mobile money and agency banking, as againt traditional financial services accessed through physical visits at a bank branch.
UNCDF manages several initiatives related to digital financial services (DFS) to address the opportunities and challenges of implementing DFS in the developing world, with a focus on the Least Developed Countries in Africa and Asia and the Pacific regions.
UNCDF is looking for qualified interns to support its different activities related to the following functional areas: (i) Data Analytics (ii) Research and Writing in areas related to SDGs and Digital Economy (iii) Knowledge Management and Communication that includes social media engagement (iv) Blogging and Developing content related to work of UNCDF (v) Engaging on developing infographics, production of video blogs, pictures repository, etc. (vi) New technology trends like AI, IOT, VR and how could it be deployed in context of digital finance specially for low and moderate income (vii) New business models that would allow for achieving the SDG goals through digital and finance (viii) Start-up engagement through the UNCDF accelerator and incubation programme delivered through financial innovation lab (ix) Impact investment
Expected duration of assignment is 3 months, which may be extended to a total of 6 months based on organization need and mutual agreement. Internships maybe in Malaysia, Thailand, Nepal, Myanmar, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Singapore, China etc.
Eligibility: Applicants to the internship programme must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements (i) Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) (ii) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent) in the field of Finance/Economics/Business Administration/Development studies and similar discipline from reputed Institution (iii) Have graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation.
Fluency in English is mandatory. Fluency in Hindi or Mandarin Chinese or other languages in Asian region will be considered a distinct advantage.
UNCDF will provide a modest monthly internship stipend to its interns, in accordance with the provisions of the UNDP Internship policy. All expenses connected with the internship will be borne by the intern or her/his sponsoring entity/institution.
