Summer Research Fellowship at JNCASR; Download application forms by Dec 6
Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), a Deemed to be University; Jakkur P.O., Bangalore - 560 064 has invited applications from bright undergraduate and MSc students studying in India, for the Summer Research Fellowship Programme (SRFP) 2020 of two months duration. A total of approximately 80 fellowships are awarded. All the fellowships are supported by the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India.
Those selected are placed with research groups at JNCASR or with scientists elsewhere in India whereby they get the opportunity to participate in cutting-edge research. Several summer projects have led to publications in leading journals.
Participants are paid travel expenses and a monthly stipend of Rs.10,000/-. The Summer Fellowships is also a stepping stone for participants to pursue graduate studies and a research career, at the JNCASR or at another leading university.
Summer fellowships are offered in Life Sciences, Materials Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Engineering Sciences and Mathematics. Details of the areas in each are available at http://www.jncasr.ac.in/fe/srfp.php
Eligibility: Applicant should have secured at least 80% in Maths and Science subjects in their 10th and 12th standard or equivalent examinations, and a minimum first class in Graduation and Post graduation (as applicable).
For Life Sciences, applicant should be presently studying in I / II year of B.Sc., I/II/III year of B.S. or B.E/B.Tech., I year of M.Sc. or I-IV year of Integrated M.Sc. can apply
Physical Sciences, Engineering Sciences and Mathematics: Applicant should be studying in II/III year of B.Sc., II/III/IV year B.S or B.E/B.Tech., I year of M.Sc. and I-III year of Integrated M.Sc.
Materials Sciences and Chemical Sciences: Students should be presently studying in IV year of BS-MS, I year of M.Sc. and IV year of Int. M.Sc.
The students selected under this programme are placed with scientists at the Centre or elsewhere in India, for 2 continuous months with a stipend of Rs. 10000 /- p.m and travel support as per Centre’s norms.

Two confidential reports sealed by the referee and with the referees’ signatures across the seals; Attested Xerox copies of relevant mark sheets etc. should be enclosed with the application.
The filled in application form with attested documents should reach ‘The Academic Coordinator, Fellowships and Extension Programmes; Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research; Jakkur P.O., Bangalore- 560 064 by 13th December 2019.
The ‘Area of Research’ should be written on the left hand top corner of the mailing envelope.
Selected candidates will be intimated by 28th February 2020 and the list will also be available at the website also.
Students who have already completed this programme earlier are not eligible to apply.
