Students should be allowed toilet breaks during exams
Thiruvananthapuram: The general education department has issued an order to allow toilet breaks for students who are facing examinations. The move comes after a Class 10 student of the Kadakkal government higher secondary school in Kollam defecated in the exam hall as invigilator refused permission to use toilet during the exam the other day.
The examination chief superintendent has instructed to arrange essential facilities to ensure the students face no mental stress during exams.
The government had instructed to provide drinking water at the exam centers in the wake of intense summer.
Meanwhile, the child rights commission has registered a case against the invigilator in the incident that happened at Kadakkal school. The commission had earlier itself instructed to provide drinking water and the basic facilities to students during exams, said commission chief P Suresh.
