SSLC, Higher Secondary exams to start today; Decision to postpone exams till IX soon
Thiruvananthapuram: Amid six positive Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases reported in the state, SSLC and Plus Two examinations will start on Tuesday. First and second year higher secondary and VHSE examinations also will be conducted along with this. Arrangements have been made in all schools to allow the students write the exams without any fear of the disease.
The government informed that special arrangements will be made for the students who are under treatment or observation in connection with Coronavirus infection. Those who cannot appear for the exam will be allowed to write SAY (Save A Year) exam. However, no student has reported to be under observation at present, the exam secretary informed.
- Students who have symptoms of the disease should not closely interact with others while writing exam. They will be allowed to write SAY exam.
- Students who have distant contact with the diseased persons will be given special facility to write exams in their own schools. They have to inform the school authorities in advance.
- If necessary, PTA committees will distribute masks and sanitizers in schools.
- CBSE allowed students to take masks and sanitizers to the exam hall, if necessary.
Insulin pump for diabetic
The Department of General Education stated that the students who are affected with Type 1 diabetes can take insulin pump to the exam hall. The invigilator will check the equipment and food items brought to the exam hall and give it back to the students.
Exams of classes upto 9 likely to be postponed
Health Minister K K Shailaja said that postponement of annual exams for classes upto 9th standard is under consideration. a discussion in this regard will be held with Education Minister Prof C Raveendranath. Final decision will be taken after assessing the present situation.
