Malappuram: When SSLC exam is round the corner, Malappuram district continues to hold the record of largest number of candidates in SSLC exam this year also. It is reported that 80,109 candidates will appear for the SSLC examination in 2019. The examination will commence from March 13.
The school where maximum number of students appear for the exam in the state is also from Malappuram. PKMM Higher Secondary School in Edarikode will send a total of 2,411 students for the SSLC exam.
At the same time, Malappuram district also holds the record of top education district with maximum number of SSLC candidates. 27,436 students will appear for SSLC examination from Malappuram education district.
However, the lowest number of candidates appearing for the exam was recorded at Vandoor education district. Only 15,172 students will appear from here.
20,483 and 16,478 students will appear for the exam from Tirurangadi and Tirur education districts respectively.
Compared to last year, the number of candidates rose by 401 students this year.
The SSLC examination will be held from March 13 to March 28. The hall tickets will be distributed from February 18. The model examination will commence from February 22.
In Malappuram district, programmes are underway to increase the number of A+ holders to 10 percent. For this purpose, ‘A plus’ club was formed in schools by identifying 15 percent of students.
