PSC approves of KAS amendments
Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Public Service Commission approved the suggestions put forward for amendments in the Kerala Administrative Service (KAS). With the PSC accepting the amendments, government is expected to release the final notification this month.
After the vacancies are reported, the application process is likely to begin in December. PSC has started the preparations for this.
The exam structure will be decided by the PSC after discussing with the government.
The vacancies in constitutional bodies like PSC, legislative assembly, secretariat, courts and advocate general office are omitted from KAS.
Also the eligibility of general education department staff to apply for second category has been dropped. The eligibility to apply for this category has been amended with addition of approved probationer or full member.
The posts including PA in education department has been eliminated from KAS.
The suggestions for amendments will be handed over to the government on Wednesday.
