Post-Doctoral & Special Post-Doctoral Fellowship 2017
Kozhikode: Kerala State Council for Science, Technology & Environment (KSCSTE) has invited applications for the award of Post-Doctoral and Special Post-Doctoral Fellowships in Science/Engineering subjects.
The PD Fellow should join a suitable institution under the Council or any R&D Institution / University other than his / her parent institution so as to get exposure in a new research environment.
The PDF’s will engage in full time research work for 2 years & the SPDF’s will engage in full time research work for 3 years in the relevant subject areas.
For being considered for Post-Doctoral Fellowships, applicant should be a Keralite by birth / domicile, with age not be more than 40 years as on 1st January 2017, possessing a Ph.D degree in Science or Engineering, at the time of application. Applicant should have published at least one research paper in a Science Citation Indexed Journal (SCI- journal) or should have one national patent.
The PD fellowship will be given for a period of two years. However, on outstanding cases, it may be extended to one more year based on the recommendation of a duly Constituted expert committee.
The selected Post-Doctoral (PD) Fellow will be eligible for a monthly fellowship of Rs.32,000/-for two years. An annual contingent grant of Rs.50,000/- and 10% H.R.A also will be granted to the PD fellows.
Selection will be based on assessment of the PhD work, evaluation of the proposed project and Personal interview.
KSCSTE Special Post-Doctoral Fellowship includes, ‘Verghese Kurien KSCSTE Post-Doctoral Fellowship’, ‘Jyeshtadeva KSCSTE Post-Doctoral Fellowship’, ‘G.N. Ramachandran KSCSTE Post-Doctoral Fellowship’ and ‘Parameshwara KSCSTE Post-Doctoral Fellowship’.
For the Senior PDF, applicant should be a Keralite by birth/domicile, with age not be more than 40 years as on 1st January 2017 and should have Ph. D degree with first class/equivalent grade in preceding degree in the field of Veterinary Science/Dairy Science/Life Science/Biotechnology for Verghese Kurien KSCSTE Post-Doctoral Fellowship, Mathematics/Astronomy/Physics for Jyeshtadeva KSCSTE Post-Doctoral Fellowship, Protein crystallography/Structural Biology for G.N. Ramachandran KSCSTE Post-Doctoral Fellowship and Space Science for Parameshwara KSCSTE Post-Doctoral Fellowship with a consistently good academic record from any of the universities/recognized research centers anywhere in India. Applicant should have published at least one research paper in Science Citation Indexed Journal (SCI – Journal) or one patent.
Special Post-Doctoral Fellow (SPDF) will be eligible for a monthly fellowship of Rs.35, 000/- for three years with 10% H.R.A. An annual contingent grant of RS.70,000 /- and travel grant of Rs.20,000 /- per annum also will be granted to the SPD fellows. The Special Post-Doctoral fellowship can be availed for research in an institution other than the department or institute anywhere in India where the candidate has undergone Ph.D work.
Selection to the KSCSTE Special Post-Doctoral Fellowship will be made based on assessment of the Ph. D work, presentation and evaluation of the proposed project and performance in the Personal Interview by an expert committee. Academic and research record and merit of proposed project will be the key factors for consideration of the application. KSCSTE Special Post-Doctoral Fellowship will be awarded to those who come first in the Selection process.

The filled application with necessary documents as stipulated in the Notification should reach ‘The Director, KSCSTE, Sasthra Bhavan, Pattom, Thiruvananthapuram-695 004’, on or before 26th August 2017.
Applications can be submitted for both the Fellowships at a time but only one will be granted.
