Plea filed in SC to cancel state board exams too
New Delhi: A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court to cancel the Higher Secondary exam of the state following the apex court cancelling the class 12 CBSE exam. The plea stated that students studying in CBSE and the state board must be treated alike and given justice.
A petition to cancel the Plus 2 CBSE exam was moved in the SC earlier and following this, the centre decided to cancel the CBSE class 12 exams for 2021 in view of the uncertain conditions brought about by the covid pandemic. The centre will inform the decision to the court on Thursday.
It was advocate Mamata Sarma who moved the court demanding cancellation of class 12 exam. Just like the CBSE exam was cancelled, the state board exams too for class 12 must be cancelled. Many states are yet to complete the board exams and presently they would be unable to conduct the exams now, the petition points out.
A few states including Kerala have started valuation of papers and hence the court decision would be significant.
