The score has been declared after displaying the Question Paper and recorded responses in the website for the verification by examinees, inviting challenges on them from candidates and examining them.
NTA Scores are normalized scores across multi session papers and are based on the relative performance of all those who appeared for the examination. The marks obtained are converted into a scale ranging from 100 to 0 for each session of examinees.
The NTA Score indicates the percentage of candidates who have scored equal to or below (same or lower raw scores) a particular candidate in that session. The procedure followed for computing the NTA Score of a Candidate have been detailed in the result notification available at https://nta.ac.in/ and also at https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/
Candidates must note that the NTA score is not the same as percentage of marks obtained. The result declared now is only the NTA Score and not the rank of the applicant in JEE Main BE/BTech paper. No rank is assigned for the first examination.
Ranks will be assigned only after JEE Main Second Examination to be held in April 2020.
The Ranks of the candidates will be released taking into consideration better of the two NTA Scores of all candidates appeared in January 2020 and April 2020 examinations, for those appearing for both the examinations and the score in the January/April examination in case of those appearing for only one these examinations, and in accordance with the policy already made available on the website https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/.
