National Testing Agency (NTA) has invited applications for admission to the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test- Under Graduate (NEET-UG)-2019, for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses in India in Medical/Dental Colleges run with the approval of Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, except for AIIMS and JIPMER Puducherry.

Seats: Admissions to MBBS/BDS courses under (i) All India Quota Seats (ii) State Government Quota Seats (iii) Central Institutions/Universities/Deemed Universities (iv) State/Management/NRI Quota Seats in Private Medical / Dental Colleges or any Private University and (v) Central Pool Quota Seats, will be done through NEET (UG) 2019.

Indian Citizens/ Overseas Citizens of India intending to pursue MBBS/ BDS from a foreign Medical/ Dental Institute also need to qualify NEET (UG).

Date and Pattern of Test: NEET (UG) 2019 will be held from 2 pm to 5 p.m on 5th May, 2019 (Sunday) at Centres across the country in the offline mode (Pen and Paper mode). It will have one paper, containing 180 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics (45 questions), Chemistry (45) and Biology (Botany & Zoology) (90). Answers are to be recorded in the machine-gradable answer sheet using the ball point pen to be provided to the candidates at the examination centre. For each correct response 4 marks will be given. For each incorrect response one mark will be deducted from the total score. The syllabus for the Test is given in the Prospectus available at https://ntaneet.nic.in.

Eligibility: Indian Nationals, Non Resident Indians (NRI), Overseas Citizens of India (OCI’s), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO’s) and Foreign Nationals can apply. Applicant must complete 17 years of age, latest by 31.12.2019. The upper age limit will be 25 years as on 5.5.2019 (date of examination) with a relaxation of 5 years for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PwD categories. Those of the Unreserved Category (UR) should have been born on or between 5.5.1994 and 31.12.2002. Those of SC/ST/OBC/PH Category, born on or between 5.5.1989 and 31.12.2002 are eligible to appear for NEET UG 2019.

Qualifying examinations include the Higher/Senior Secondary Examination/Indian School Certificate Examination/equivalent/ Intermediate/Pre-degree Examination /Pre-professional/Pre-medical Examination/B.Sc. Examination/first year of the three years’ degree course etc subject to the specified conditions given in the Information Brochure.

Applicant must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Bio-technology at the qualifying examination.

Applicants belonging to Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes, need only 40% marks and those with benchmark disabilities specified under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, need only 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology together in qualifying examination.

Those who have passed 10+2 from National Institute of Open Schooling/State Open Schools or as Private candidates from recognised State Boards; those who have studied Biology/Bio-technology as an Additional Subject at 10+2 level can apply provisionally but their candidature is subject to the decision of the cases pending in the Courts on the matter.

Those appearing for the qualifying examination in 2019 can also appear for the entrance test provisionally subject to their fulfilling the conditions later.

Those from all states (except Jammu & Kashmir) are eligible for 15% All India Quota seats.

Application Fee: Application fee is Rs.1400/- for General/OBC applicants and Rs.750/- for SC/ST/PH categories. Applicant fee can be paid online using Debit/Credit Card/Internet banking or using the e-chalan of SBI, that can be generated while applying online, in any branch of SBI.

Application: Applications can be submitted online at https://natneet.nic.in, latest by 23.50 hrs (IST) on 30.11.2018 (Friday) and application fee can be paid online up to 23.50 hrs (IST) on 1.12.2018 (Saturday) using Credit/Debit Card/Net Banking. Application Fee can be paid through e-chalan of SBI, at a branch of SBI, till banking hours on 1.12.2018.

Applicants can opt for Question Paper in one of the English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Oriya, Tamil, Telugu or Urdu languages. Option of medium of Question Paper should be exercised while filling the application form and the option once exercised cannot be changed later.

Application can be submitted in 4 steps (i) Filling the Online Application Form and noting down the Registration Number (ii) Uploading photo and signature (iii) Making payment of Fee by prescribed modes and (iv) Printing Confirmation Page after Successful remittance of fee. Applicant can choose 4 centres for the examination in the order of priority while submitting online application.

Generation of confirmation page confirms the correctness and final submission of application form. If confirmation page has not been generated, this means that application has not been submitted successfully. Candidates are not required to send the confirmation page of his/her Online Application form to the Board.

On-line correction of data in application form can be done between 14.1.2019 to 31.1.2019.

Admit Card will be uploaded in the website, from 15th of April, 2019.

Qualifying score: In order to be eligible for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses, applicant should obtain minimum of marks at 50th percentile in NEET 2019. For SC/ST/OBC, the minimum marks shall be at 40th percentile. In respect of the candidates with Bench Marked Disabilities specified under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, the minimum marks shall be at 45th percentile for General category candidates and 40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC candidates. The percentile shall be determined on the basis of highest marks secured in the All India common merit list in NEET UG 2019.

Result of NEET UG 2019 is expected to be declared on 05.06.2019.

Seat Allotment: Online counselling would be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee of the Directorate General of Health Services for seats under 15% All India Quota, Central Institutions including AFMC, ESI, BHU, AMU & Deemed Universities. Information for online counselling would only be available on Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) website (www.mcc.nic.in).

Admission to Deemed Universities/Central Universities/seats of ESIC including BHU and AMU will be conducted by DGHS and reservation policy will be as per rules and regulations of the concerned University or Institution.

Admission to AFMC, Pune shall be subject to the norms prescribed by the Directorate General of Armed Forces Medical Services, Ministry of Defence, Government of India. Candidates who apply for NEET (UG) –2019 and also seeking admission in AFMC will also have to apply to AFMC on www.afmc.nic.in / www.afmcdg1d.gov.in. The short listed candidates will be required to appear for a second stage Screening Test conducted by AFMC.

Admission under State Quota Seats shall be subject to reservation policy and eligibility criteria prevailing in the State/Union Territory as notified by the respective State/Union Territory from time to time. The reservation of the seats in medical colleges for respective categories shall be as per applicable laws prevailing in State/Union Territory concerned. Admission to MBBS/BDS Courses in Private Medical Colleges shall be subject to policies of the Government of India/State/Union Territory.
