The National Board of Examinations (NBE) will hold the Post Graduate National Eligibility cum Entrance Examination - 2019 (NEET-PG 2019) on 6th January, 2019.
NEET-PG 2019 is for admission to Postgraduate Doctor of Medicine (MD)/Master of Surgery (MS)/Diploma Courses for the academic session 2019 and will include (i) 50% All India quota seats (all States except Jammu & Kashmir) (ii) State quota seats (including the state of Jammu & Kashmir) (iii) All Private Medical Colleges, Institutions & Universities/Deemed Universities all across the Country (iv) Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions (v) DNB Broad specialty courses.
The following Medical institutions are not covered by centralized admissions for MD/MS seats through NEET- PG for 2019 session (i) AIIMS, New Delhi and other AIIMS (ii) PGIMER, Chandigarh (iii) JIPMER, Puducherry (iv) NIMHANS, Bengaluru (v) Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum.
Eligibility: Applicant should hold MBBS degree or Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate recognized as per the provisions of the Indian Medical Council Act 1956 and possess permanent or provisional registration certificate of MBBS qualification issued by the Medical Council of India or State Medical Council. Applicant should complete one year of internship on or before 31st March 2019.
Exam Structure: The exam shall be conducted on 6th January, 2019, in a single session form 3.30 pm to 7 pm. NEET-PG will be a Computer based Test (CBT). It will comprise of 300 Multiple Choices, single correct response questions in English language only. The question paper will have 3 parts, A, B and C, containing 50, 100, 150 MCQs respectively. The distribution of MCQs in these parts is given in the Information Brochure that can be downloaded from www.nbe.edu.in. Each correct response would get 4 marks and each incorrect response will result in loss of 1 mark.
A demo test will be available at www.nbe.edu.in from 15th December, 2018 for the benefit of applicants to familiarize themselves with the Computer Based Test format
NEET PG 2019 will be held over 148 Centres across the country as per the list given in the Information Brochure.
To qualify in NEET PG 2019, applicants of the General category need to score marks at the 50th Percentile, SC/ST/OBC applicants at the 40th Percentile and UR PWD applicants at the 45th Percentile.
Application: Applications can be submitted at www.nbe.edu.in latest by 11.55 pm on 22nd November, 2018.
Exam Fee: Exam fee is Rs. 2750/- for SC/ST/PWD (PH) candidates and Rs. 3750/- for General/OBC candidates. The prescribed exam fee should be remitted through payment gateway provided using a Credit Card or a Debit Card issued by banks in India or through Internet Banking.
Results will be declared by 31st January, 2019.
