NCHM JEE on April 25: Apply by March 20

National Testing Agency (NTA) has invited applications for the notified the National Council for Hotel Management (NCHM) Joint Entrance Examination (NCHM JEE-2020) for admission to the 3 year, 6 semester, B.Sc. Hospitality and Hotel Administration Course for the Academic Year, 2020-21, at the Institute of Hotel Managements (IHMs) affiliated to National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHM&CT). This is a full time, regular, job-oriented program that equips students with knowledge, technical skills, service aptitude and exposure of Hospitality Industry.

B.Sc. Hospitality and Hotel Administration course is imparted at the affiliated 21 Central Institutes of Hotel Management, 25 State Government Institutes of Hotel Management, 1 Public Sector Undertaking and 24 Private Institutes of Hotel Management.

Eligibility: Applicant should have passed the 10+2 system of Senior Secondary examination or its equivalent with English as one of the subjects. Applicant must have passed English as a subject of study (core/elective/functional) in the qualifying examination. Those appearing in 10+2 or equivalent examination can also appear in NCHM JEE 2020 on provisional basis subject to production of proof of having passed the qualifying examination (10+2 or its equivalent) at the time of counselling or at the time of admission or latest by 30 September 2020.

The approved Qualifying Examinations include (i) Plus two level examination in the 10+2 pattern of Senior Secondary education of any recognized Central/State Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination or State Boards of Secondary Education (ii) Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University (iii) General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level (iv) High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University (v) Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in a foreign country recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 pattern of Senior Secondary education (vi) H.S.C. Vocational Examination approved by NCVT and SCVT of concerned state (vii) Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects including English as one of the Subjects, result of which should be available up to 30 September 2020.

Age Limit: Upper age limit is 25 years as on 1 July 2020 for General/OBC categories (Born on or after July 1, 1995). For SC/ST applicants, upper age limit is 28 years as on 1 July 2020 (born on or after July 1, 1992).

Physical Fitness: All qualified candidates will have to submit a physical fitness certificate of carrying out practical claims as required in course at the time of admission from a Registered Medical Practitioner in the prescribed format given at Annexure-IV of the Information Bulletin available at https://nchmjee.nta.nic.in/

Test Structure: NCHM JEE will be a Computer Based Test (CBT) to be held from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. on April 25, 2020 (Saturday). The test will have 200 Multiple Choice questions from (i)Numerical Ability and Analytical Aptitude (30 questions) (ii) Reasoning and Logical Deduction (30) (iii) General Knowledge and Current Affairs (30) (iv) English Language (60) and (v) Aptitude for Service Sector (50). Each correct answer will get 4 marks while for each incorrect answer, 1 mark will be deducted.

Application Fee: Application fee for General/ Non Creamy Layer OBC categories is Rs.900/-. For EWS, it is Rs.700/-; for SC/ST/PwD and Transgender categories, Rs.450/-.

Application: On-line submission of Applications Form can be done till 20 March 2020 at https://nchmjee.nta.nic.in/. The last date for uploading of scanned images of candidate’s photograph and signature is also 20 March 2020. Fee has to remitted through Credit/ Debit Card/UPI or PayTM or through Net Banking, by 11.50 p.m. on 21 March 2020.

Admit card will be available for downloading from, 7 April 2020.

Results are likely to be declared by 15 May 2020.
