NCC Special Entry Scheme in Indian Army; Apply by Jan 28
Applications have been invited from unmarried male and unmarried female (including Wards of Battle Casualties of Army Personnel), under NCC Special Entry Scheme 49th course (April 2021) leading to grant of Short Service Commission in the Indian Army
Applicant should be a citizen of India generally (exceptions given in the Notification) and should be of 19 to 25 years as on 1st January, 2021 (born not earlier than 2nd January 1996 and not later than 1st January 2002; both dates inclusive).
For NCC 'C' Certificate Holders, applicant should have a Degree of a recognized University or equivalent with minimum aggregate of 50% marks taking into account marks of all the years. Those studying in final year are also allowed to apply provisionally.
Applicant should have served for minimum three academic years (wef 22 February 2013 onwards till date)/two years (23 May 2008 till 21 February 2013) in the senior Division/Wing of NCC and obtained minimum of ‘B' Grade in ‘C’ Certificate Exam of NCC and should hold NCC ‘C’ Certificate on date of application.
For Wards of Battle Casualties of Army Personnel: The vacancies are available to wards (unmarried sons and unmarried daughters including legally adopted) of Battle casualties specified as (i) Killed in action (ii) Died of wound or injuries (Other than self-inflicted) (iii) Wounded or Injured (Other than self-inflicted) (iv) Missing. Applicant should hold Degree of a recognized University or equivalent with aggregate of minimum 50% marks taking into account marks of all the years. NCC 'C' certificate not required for Wards of Battle Casualties.
Selection: Applicants will be shortlisted for Service Selection Board (SSB) Interview. Those recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit, will be issued joining letter for training in the order of merit, depending on the number of vacancies available, subject to meeting all eligibility criteria.
Duration of training at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai is 49 weeks. The final allocation of Arms/Services will be made prior to passing out of gentleman cadets/Lady cadets from OTA.
Vacancy: There are 50 vacancies under NCC Men (45 for General Category and 0 for Wards of Battle Casualties of Army personnel only) and 5 under NCC Women (4 for General Category and 1 for Wards of Battle Casualties of Army personnel only).
