Medical counselling held in abeyance; second allotment postponed
New Delhi: The medical counselling committee (MCC) today announced that the counselling process for the admissions to MBBS and BDS admissions has been temporarily suspended.
The announcement of second round of results (second allotment) that was to be released today has been postponed till further notification.
The MBBS/BDS allotment to seats under All India Quota, Deemed to be Universities, Central Universities, IP Quota of ESI that are filled based on NEET 2018 UG ranks has been deferred.
The move comes after the Madras High Court Bench in Madurai ordered for awarding of additional 196 marks to those who had given the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) in Tamil as 49 questions were wrong. The court ordered the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to award four marks each for 49 questions that were wrongly translated in Tamil.
