Medical college management approaches SC seeking speedy hearing against prospectus
New Delhi: The managements of medical colleges in Kerala approached the Supreme Court seeking speedy hearing of the plea against the state prospectus which barred admission of students from other states to the medical colleges in the state.
Government medical colleges admit students from other states in 15 percent of the vacancies. SC had allowed the private college managements to follow the same rule. However, they are seeking permission to admit more students from other states based on the NEET score.
The management also want to remove the ban on collecting bank guarantees from candidates and also allow spot admissions after completing two rounds of counselling. They also want to keep 5 percent of the seats aside for the management.
