Kerala University changes assistant professor recruitment criteria
Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala University syndicate updated its assistant professor recruitment criteria based on the UGC regulations of 2018.
As per the new rule, the mark given for the performance in the interview will be the sole criteria for selection. The syndicate also prepared a pattern for the interview. The maximum mark is 50.
A shortlist of the candidates will be prepared based on the number of vacancies. For the first vacancy, 10 candidates will be interviewed. For the remaining vacancies, five each will be called in.
The format is applicable to appointments to the departments of the university as well as to the aided colleges. Appointments to government colleges are done through PSC.
The proceedings will be videographed.
Earlier, Kerala and MG universities, had decided to include the mark of the eligibility (for appearing interview) for preparing the final list. Candidates approached Kerala High Court suggesting the recommendation is violation of the UCG regulations. Appointments to aided colleges were stopped due to this.
