Kerala SSLC, Plus Two exams as scheduled; confusion over entrance exam dates
Thiruvananthapuram: The Director of Public Instruction informed that the SSLC and Plus Two examinations in Kerala are not rescheduled. Also university exams will be conducted as per the schedule.
The central government had decided to postpone all exams to be held between March 19 to 31 due to COVID-19 outbreak. However, the education department of the state decided that there is no need to postpone exams in Kerala under the present circumstances.
Entrance exam dates
The government is considering to reschedule the entrance examinations to be held in April due to the Coronavirus outbreak. However, the authorities are confused over the matter as postponing entrance exam of professional courses will affect the admission to the degree courses.
The Department of Higher Education is planning to decide on the matter observing the spread of Coronavirus. The entrance exam to professional courses other than engineering and medical courses were slated for April 20 and 21. NEET exam is scheduled on May 3.
There is an opinion that the state entrance ned not be postponed, if NEET is not rescheduled. Many students appear for both exams. They opt the course to join after checking results of both entrance exams.
