Kochi: Applications are invited from eligible candidate by Kerala State Council for Science, Technology & Environment (KSCSTE) to participate in the 29th Kerala Science Congress . The event will be held during 28-30 January 2017 at Mar Thoma College, Thiruvalla, Pathanamthitta District. It provides a forum for interaction and deliberation, review of the present status of R&D efforts and to formulate strategies for better utilization of scientific and technical manpower for the overall development of the State of Kerala.
The event provides a platform for encouraging talented young scientists of Kerala to contribute towards the promotion of Science and Technology in the State.
The Kerala Science Congress covers technical sessions including theme lectures by eminent scientists, research presentation by young researchers, Memorial Lectures, Post Graduate Student Interaction Programme and Children's Science Congress. Talented young researchers are honoured with 'Young Scientist Award'. 'Best Paper Awards' and 'Best Poster Awards' are given to selected papers presented under different subject areas. A national exhibition on S&T with participation of major R&D institutions also form a significant part of the science congress event.
How to apply
Online registration will be open from 9th September 2016 onwards. Last date for registration, submission of extended abstracts or full paper for BPA contestants is 21st October 2016. Before proceeding with online registration, Please ensure that you have paid your registration fee. The registration fee for the Kerala Science Congress is Rs. 1500/-. Bonafide students need to pay only Rs. 750/-. Delegates requiring accommodation shall pay an additional amount of Rs 300/- and Bonafide Students Rs 100/- towards accommodation charges. So Students who need accommodation must pay Rs 850/- and all others who need accommodation may pay Rs 1800/-.
Registration fee can be paid through Bank Transfer using the NEFT facility. Money can be transferred to SB ACCOUNT NO. 30631376097(State Bank of India, Peechi).

IFSC Code: SBIN0002255) from any nationalised or scheduled bank having the NEFT facility.
Delegates have to collect the UTR Number of NEFT (transaction ID) from the bank and specify while registering online which will be required for the completion of the registration process. Please note that along with the transaction ID, a short name of the registrant also should appear in the bank transaction list so as to reconcile the registration.
Information Regarding Paper Submission
One can submit only one paper as a main author. However one can be a co-author to maximum two submissions. A valid Email ID is essential for provisioning the credentials and messaging and approving the registration. Digital copy of recent stamp size photograph of the person registering online (Ideal file size not to exceed 175 kb).
Best Paper Award contestants should submit attested photocopies of documentary evidence on age, gender, SC/ST category, qualifications and experience along with filled up nomination form to The General Convenor, 29th Kerala Science Congress, Sasthra Bhavan, Pattom P O, Trivandrum- 695 004, not later than 21st October 2016. Originals of certificates have to be produced for verification at the venue of the Kerala Science Congress.
