KEAM: HC directs Kerala not to publish entrance rank list till it resolves petition
Kochi: The Kerala High Court told the Commissioner of the Entrance Examination that the rank list of the KEAM entrance must not be published until the court pronounces the verdict in the case against weightage for plus two marks.
Two students and the Kerala CBSE School Managements Association approached the court seeking an interim order till the plea in the court for preparing “the rank list for admission to professional course purely on the basis of the marks secured by the candidates in the entrance examination” is settled.
The CBSE had cancelled the board examination of its 12th standard.
The government is yet to decide on the matter. Additional Advocate General told the court that the government is “contemplating a decision on the issues and the same will be taken as expeditiously as possible.”
Currently, the entrance examination marks and the plus two marks are combined in the 50:50 formula to prepare the rank list.
The KEAM entrance exam is scheduled for August 5.
