KEAM 2019: 89 boys in first 100 ranks; One-week time for option registration
Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) Entrance Examination 2019 rank list was released on Monday. Vishnu Vinod of Idukki scored the first rank in Engineering while Thrissur native Alice Mariya Chungath scored first rank in Architecture and Naveen Vincent of Kollam bagged first rank in Pharmacy.
Kottayam Kumaranellur native Gautham Govind, Jharkhand native and Vadavathoor Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya student Aquib Nawas scored the second and third rank in Engineering respectively.
In Engineering, 89 out of the first 100 ranks were bagged by boy students. Out of the first 100, 66 were first timers attempting the exam while 34 were repeaters. There were18 students from Kozhikode, 15 each from Ernakulam and Kottayam among the first 100.
Out of the 5000 ranks, 2341 were from state syllabus, 2464 were from CBSE and 164 from ICSE and 31 from other syllabuses.
Ernakulam has the most number of ranks in the first 1000 – 179. Idukki has the least with 11 ranks.
Out of the 51,667 students passed in Engineering entrance exam, 45,597 are included in the rank list.
There are 39,912 students in Pharmacy list and 3825 in Architecture list.
The results of some students have been withheld due to various reasons. Their results will be released soon after correcting the issues. The category list will be published soon. A one-week time will be given for option registration likely from Wednesday. The notification is expected on Tuesday.
The admission procedures will be completed soon and BTech classes will begin by mid-July, said Higher Education Minister K T Jaleel at the press meet.
