JAM 2021 on 14th February: Apply by October 15
Joint Admission test for Masters (JAM) 2021 to be conducted by Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore will be held on 14th February, 2021.
JAM scores will be used for admission to M.Sc. (Two years), Masters in Economics (Two years), Joint M.Sc.‐Ph.D., M.Sc.‐Ph.D. Dual Degree, M.Sc.‐M.S. (Research)/ Ph. D. Dual Degree and other Post‐Bachelor Degree programmes at Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) at Bhilai, Bhubaneshwar, Bombay, Delhi, Dhanbad, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Mandi, Palakkad, Patna, Roorkee, Ropar, Tirupati and Varanasi, for the Academic Session 2021‐22.
JAM score will be used by llSc Bangalore for admission to Integrated Ph.D. programmes of the Institute. JAM score will also be used by other centrally funded technical institutions such as NITs, IIEST Shibpur, SLIET Punjab, and IISERs for admission to their programmes.
JAM 2021 Mode and subjects: JAM 2021 examination will be conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT) in online mode only at the Centres notified. It will be held in two sessions with the morning session having the test papers Biotechnology (BT), Mathematical Statistics (MS) and Physics (PH) and the afternoon session having the test papers, Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), Geology (GG) and Mathematics (MA). One can appear for either one test paper or two test papers by paying an additional fee for the second test paper subject to the time schedule.
Patterns of Test Papers: JAM 2021 Test papers will be fully objective type, with (i) Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ); (ii) Multiple Select Questions (MSQ); and (iii) Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions. Details including the syllabus for each paper are given in the JAM website and in the Information Brochure available there.
Eligibility & Minimum Educational Qualifications (MEQ): Applicant should have at least 55% or 5.5 out of 10 for General/OBC (NCL)/EWS category candidates and 50% or 5.0 out of 10 for SC/ST and PwD category candidates in the qualifying degree. The aggregate marks or CGPA/CPI will be computed without rounding‐off, taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined. The MEQ for admission toeach programme is available at http://jam.iisc.ac.in. Proof of having passed the qualifying degree with the required eligibility as specified by the admitting institute should be submitted by September 30, 2021.
Applications: Applications can be submitted at http://jam.iisc.ac.in till October 15, 2020.
Application fee for one test paper will be Rs.750/- for females and SC/ST/PwD and Rs.1500/- for all others. For 2 Test Papers, it will be Rs.1050/- and Rs.2100/- respectively. The amount can be paid by Net banking, Credit/Debit Card or UPI/Wallet. Details are given in the Information Brochure.
Joint Admission Procedure: Admissions to various academic programmes at IITs for 2021‐22 will be made based on the All India merit list of JAM 2021. Details are given in the Information Brochure.
