ICAR-NET in Agriculture: Apply from Nov 9
Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (Department Of Agricultural Research And Education) Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare; Krishi Anusandhan Bhavan-1, Pusa, New Delhi-110012, has notified the ICAR-National Eligibility Test (NET-II), 2018.
The Examination will be held during 27.12.2018 to 31.12.2018 in online mode at 34 Centres across India (as per the list given in Appendix-I of the Notification at http://www.asrb.org.in/net-ii-2018); in a staggered slot-wise examination format. The dates may be extended to January, 2019 depending on the number of candidates.
National Eligibility Test (NET) is a qualifying examination for determining eligibility for the position of Lecturer/Assistant Professor in the State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) and other Agricultural Universities (AUs). Those clearing the National Eligibility Test will be eligible to apply for the post of Lecturers or Assistant Professors in the SAUs/AUs. NET certificates will be issued by the ASRB to the qualified candidates to enable them to apply against vacancies to be notified or advertised by the State Agricultural Universities/Agricultural Universities. SAUs/AUs will satisfy themselves with regard to fulfilment of prescribed eligibility condition/criterion for requisite posts of Lecturers/Assistant Professors including authenticity of the NET Certificate in the possession of the candidates.
CENTRES: Applicant may select two centres in order of their preference while applying.
Academic Eligibility: Applicant must possess a Master's degree or equivalent in the concerned Discipline and specialization completed on or before 31.12.2018 from any Indian University incorporated by an Act of Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institution established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or he/she must have qualification from a foreign University recognized as equivalent by the Government of India (GoI). The list of Disciplines and its prescribed educational qualifications are as given in Appendix II of the Notification.
Age Limit: Applicant must have attained the age of 21 years as on 01.07.2018. There is no upper age limit for the National Eligibility Test.
Number of Attempts: There is no restriction on number of attempts for appearing in the National Eligibility
Plan of Examination: The online examination will have a single paper of 150 marks consisting of 150 objective type multiple choice questions derived from the respective discipline in which the candidate has opted to appear and to be answered in 2 hours. The questions in the ICAR-NET (II) Examination will be available in bilingual form-Hindi and English medium on the computer. In case of any discrepancy between English and Hindi version of any Question, the English version shall prevail and will be treated as final. The answers are to be marked on the Computer itself during the Examination. The standard of paper will be that of a Master's degree issued by an Indian University in the relevant Discipline. Each question carries one mark. 1/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer in the ICAR-NET (II)-2018. There will be no rounding off of fractions of marks.
Minimum marks required for qualifying ICAR-NET (II)-2018 will be 75.0 (50%) for Un-reserved UR); 67.5 (45%) for OBC (Non-Creamy layer) and 60.0 (40%) for SC / ST/ Divyang. The Board reserves the right to fix/alter the qualifying marks in any or all Disciplines at its discretion.
Application Fee: Application Fee is Rs.1000/-for Unreserved (UR), Rs.500/- Other Backward Class (OBC) and Rs.250/- for Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Divyang (PH)/ Women. Payment can be made through Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking from 10.00 hrs on 09.11.2018 till 17.00 hrs on 29.11.2018 through http://www.asrb.org.in or http://www.icar.org.in.
Applicants are not required to attach copy of any of the documents /certificates in support of their candidature at the time of submission of online application. No request for change in any field will be considered under any circumstances except bonafide spelling mistakes etc. In case multiple applications are received from a candidate, the latest application will only be considered, ignoring all earlier applications(s); without refunding / adjusting Application Fee received for the other Applications.
Admit Card: Admit Card would be made available at http://www.asrb.org.in and http://www.icar.org.in only. After downloading the same, applicant should check it and bring discrepancies/errors, if any, to the notice of Controller of Examinations, ASRB, KAB-I, Pusa, New Delhi-110012 or e-mail to email@example.com immediately. Applicants should visit the websites mentioned regularly for updates. All the information related to the examination will be uploaded/ updated on this website only. No other form of communication will be used for issue of admission certificates.
Applicants should bring the original of any of the valid Photo Identity Card like Voter Card/ Aadhar Card/ Passport/ Driver's License/ PAN card apart from the Admit Card (Admission Certificate when reporting for the Examination. Applicant will not be allowed to take the examination in case the original of the Identity Card is produced at the registration desk at the centre.
