Govt extends online class trial for a week
Thiruvananthapuram: The trial run of online classes for school students in the state will be extended for a week. The cabinet meeting presided by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan took the decision to extend the trial run. The drawbacks of the virtual class will be rectified in the trial period. All classes will be re-telecast on Victers channel.
The state government has decided to conduct the online classes on trial basis for a week from June 1. It was found that over 2 lakh students lack the facilities to attend online classes. The trial run was extended to solve all these drawbacks.
In the trial phase, all classes will have a re-telecast on Victers channels to ensure that no student missed the classes.
Following the commencement of online classes, a student committed suicide unable to access the online classes. It triggered a controversy in the state and the government faced criticism for commencing the online classes without providing basic facilities to all students. The decision to extend the trial run of the online classes was taken after observing the present situation.
