Foundation course in screenplay writing: Apply by September 27
Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Pune, under its Skilling India in Film and Television (SKIFT) initiative, has invited applications for admission to the Foundation Course in Screenplay Writing to be conducted at Nainital, Uttarkhand, in association with NITRIC Films, Mumbai, from 1st November to 22nd November, 2019.
The course introduces students to the basics of screenplay writing, while helping them develop an original idea into a 5-10 minute short film, and a one page feature idea.
A total of 24 persons will be admitted to the course to be held at Silverton Hotel, Sher Ka Danda, Upper Mall Road, Nainital. However, the course will be conducted only if minimum strength of 20 is reached. Sessions will be held from 10 am to 5 pm.
Applicants should be Indians who have passed HSC (12th Std.). In exceptional cases, 10th pass may be considered. Applicant should be 18 years of age or above as on 1st November, 2019. Applicant should have basic knowledge of computer operations as they will be working on screenplay writing software.
Course Fees is Rs 30,000/- per participant inclusive of GST. The fee is to be paid by way of a Demand Draft in favour of ‘Accounts Officer, Film & TV Institute of India, Pune’, payable at Pune.

Filled application along with the Demand Draft of Rs 30,000/- should reach ‘Ms Anusuya Sah Jagati, Headingly Cottage, Upper Mall Road, Taliital, Nainital, Uttarakhand-263 001’, by Speed Post/ Courier or in person by 4 pm on 27th September, 2019 with the words, ‘Application for Foundation Course in Screenplay Writing’ written on the top left of the envelope.
Selection will be on First-Come-First-Served basis. However, course will be conducted only if the minimum strength of 20 participants is reached. All the selected candidates would be communicated by email. Once admission is offered, the same cannot be cancelled. Course fee of selected candidates will be non-refundable. Course fees of all non-selected candidates would be returned within 4 days.
The medium of instruction would be English and Hindi. Participants are expected to have adequate knowledge of English and/or Hindi as regards to reading, writing and speaking.
All participants would be given participation certificate on successful completion of the course. Minimum 90% attendance is mandatory.
Limited accommodation may be arranged on double/triple sharing basis. Detailed curriculum is available in the Notification.
