CPL Course at IGRUA: Apply by May 5
Kochi: Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi, Fursatganj Airfield, Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh-229302, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India, has invited applications for admission to the ‘Ab-initio to CPL Course’ for issue of CPL with Multi–engine endorsement and Instrument Rating (IR) on Multi-engine Aircraft.
Applicant should be 17 years of age at the time of joining. Applicant should have passed 10+2 or equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and English and should have scored a minimum of 55% marks in Mathematics & Physics together. SC/ST applicants need only a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Mathematics & Physics. All applicants should have passed English at 10+2 level.
Selection to the course will be based on online Written Test, Viva/Interview and Pilot Aptitude Test.
The online Written Test will be held on 28th May 2016 (Saturday), at Agartala, Agra, Aizwal, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bareilly, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chamba, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Delhi, Dharwad, Dibrugarh, East Sikkim, Ernakulam, Gorakhpur, Guwahati, Gwalior, Hisar, Hyderabad, Imphal, Indore, Jaipur, Jammu, Jamnagar, Jamshedpur, Jodhpur, Kohima, Kolkata, Koraput, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Madurai, Mangalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Noida, Panaji, Papum pare (Arunachal Pradesh), Patna, Port Blair, Puducherry, Pune, Purnea, Raipur, Ranchi, Rewa, Rourkela, Shillong, Shimla, Siliguri, Thiruvananthapuram, Udaipur, Vadodara and Visakhapatnam.
Option for three centers is to be made at the time of applying, giving first, second and third choice. The test will have 10+2 level objective type questions only from General English, Maths, Physics, Reasoning & Current Affairs. There is no negative marking for wrong answers. The cut off marks in Written Test for SC/ST/OBC candidates will be 5% less from the cut off marks secured by the last candidate in the General category.
How to apply:
Applications are to be filled online only on prescribed format at http://www.igrua.gov.in. The application form can be reached by clicking on ‘IGRUA ENTRANCE’ available on IGRUA website. Application Fee is Rs. 6000/- for general and OBC candidates, to be paid either through internet banking, debit or credit cards or through Bank Challan payable at any branch of State Bank of India as per instructions for Fee Deposit. SC & ST candidates are exempted from payment of Application Fee.
Applicants should have a Valid Email id and Mobile Number. They should also have a scanned copy of recent Scanned Colour Photograph in JPG/JPEG format only (maximum file size 80KB) scanned signatures (maximum file size 80KB), at the time of filling up online application form.
The first step in the process of filling the application Form is the Registration. Applicant may click, ‘Register’. During registration, applicants are required to fill in Name, Mobile number and Date of birth. After successful Registration, candidate will receive user Id, password and a verification link on registered Email Id. Once the Email is verified, further information on Application Form may be completed in next stage.
Applicant may sign in with credentials received in Email after successful Registration and enter information such as personal details (communication details & category), qualification details, Document Upload (photo and signature) etc. as per the application form. They can edit and preview the application form before clicking on Submit.
After clicking on ‘SUBMIT’ button, once the form is complete and verified by the applicant, he/she will be redirected to SBI website. The applicant will be redirected to SBI MOPS page of the website where in he/she may select the appropriate option to make payment. The Mode of payment can be Debit Card/Credit Card/SBI Net banking/Challan. For those choosing the ‘Challan’ option, Challan can be generated and payment may be made at any SBI branch on the next day after generation of challan. Once Payment is done successfully applicant will receive a confirmation SMS/e-mail with Transaction ID and payment submission status.
The last date for online filing of application is 5th May 2016. Application Fee Payment can be done up to 5.5.2016. However, Challan payment can be made till 6.5.2016.
Applicants may download the Admit Cards from 18th May, 2016. The Online Written Test will be on 28th May, 2016.
Interview/ Viva Schedule will be available on Website/ Emails/ SMS on 9th June 2016, for successful candidates in written test.
Interview / Viva: All short listed Candidates will be required to produce following documents in original as well as one photocopy of each document at the time of interview, starting on 27th June, 2016.
(i) Proof of Date of Birth ( such as 10th Class certificate )
(ii) 10th Mark sheet
(iii) 10+2 Mark sheet
(iv) Caste Certificate for SC/ST/OBC Candidates
(v) A Certificate from the competent Authority that the OBC Candidate does not belong to Creamy layer
(vi) Admit Card Downloaded for Written Test (Admit cards will serve as a valid identity for attending Interview / Aptitude test and must be preserved till joining)
Only successful candidates in Pilot Aptitude / Psychometric Test shall qualify for final selection. No relaxation criteria will be applicable for SC/ST/OBC Candidates in Pilot Aptitude/Psychometric Test.
SC / ST candidates will be reimbursed only once 2nd Class to and fro rail fare on production of tickets from their registered address to Raebareli to appear for Interview / Pilot Aptitude Test.
All Candidates must comply with the eligibility criteria by given date for Interview / Aptitude Test. In case SC/ST and OBC candidates do not qualify even after 5% relaxation in the Entrance Written test, the seats would be de-reserved for General Category.
Final Result will be available on Website / Emails / SMS on 11th July, 2016.
The total number of seats is 150 of which 75 are General seats. The number of seats for SC, ST, OBC are 23, 11 and 41 respectively. The duration of the course is 18 months (may get extended).
Selected candidates may join with Class II medical Certificate. However they will have to clear & submit Class-I Medical Fitness Certificate subsequently. List of Centers/Doctors for Class-I & II medical are available at DGCA Website.
All selected candidates including SC / ST / OBC will be required to pay commitment money of Rs. 2 Lacs (non-refundable but adjustable against the total fee) by 1st August, 2016, to secure their seat.
Shortlisted candidates shall be inducted as per final merit in batches, every three months starting August 2016. The date of joining for first batch is 25th August, 2016.
Training fee is Rs. 32.5 Lakhs payable in four quarterly instalments. The case for levy of service tax is subjudice and if confirmed by Court, the candidate will have to pay subsequently the same at applicable rates. Additional expenditure for about Rs. 1.50 Lakh will have to be incurred towards cost of Uniform, Study Material, Navigation Computer, Head Phones, DGCA/ RTR Examination and License fee. Separate Hostels for Boys and Girls are available. Messing and hostel accommodation within the campus (on twin sharing basis), is provided. (Charges approximately Rs. 10,000/- per month).
Candidates can also opt for B.Sc. (Aviation) Degree from Chatrapati Sahu Ji Maharaj University Kanpur, being conducted simultaneously with CPL Course. Duration of this course will be 3 years.
