Commercial Pilot License: Apply by Oct 25
Kochi: Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (IGRUA), Fursatganj Airfield, Raebareli, U.P-229 302, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Civil Aviation Govt. of India, has invited applications for admission to the ‘Ab-initio to CPL Course’ of 18 months duration (may get extended), for issue of Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with Multi–engine endorsement and Instrument Rating (IR) on Multi-engine Aircraft.
Admission to the Programme will be in batches every three months starting in February 2016. A total of 100 seats are available at IGRUA. Of this, 51 seats are General seats. The number of seats for SC, ST and OBC are 15, 7 and 27 respectively.
Eligibility: Applicant should have attained 17 years of age at the time of joining. General category applicants should have passed English and secured at least 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics & Physics at 10+2 level. SC / ST / OBC applicants should have passed English and secured minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Mathematics & Physics at 10+2 level.
The selection process will consist of online written test, Viva/Interview and Pilot Aptitude Test.
The Written Test will be held on 7th November 2015 (Saturday), at various centres. The list of centres is as follows. Option for three centers is to be made in the application, giving first, second and third choice. If number of applicants for the Center is inadequate, the centre may be cancelled.
The online test will have objective type questions from General English, Maths, Physics, Reasoning & Current Affairs of 10+2 level. There is no negative marking for wrong answers.
Qualifying Marks in Written Test:
The cut off marks for SC/ST/OBC candidates will be 5% less from the cut off marks secured by the last candidate in the General category. In case SC/ST and OBC candidates do not qualify even after 5% relaxation in the Entrance Written test, the seats would be de-reserved for General Category.
Interview / Viva:
All Candidates must comply with eligibility criteria by given date for Interview / Aptitude Test. All short listed Candidates are required to produce following documents in original as well as one photocopy of each document at the time of interview.
(i) Proof of Date of Birth ( such as 10th Class certificate )
(ii) 10th Mark sheet
(iii) 10+2 Mark sheet
(iv) Caste Certificate for SC/ST/OBC Candidates
(v) A Certificate from the competent Authority that the OBC Candidate does not belong to Creamy layer
Pilot Aptitude Test / Psychometric Test: Applicants have to undergo the Pilot Aptitude Test / Psychometric Test. Only successful candidates in Pilot Aptitude / Psychometric Test shall qualify for final selection. No relaxation criteria will be applicable for SC/ST/OBC candidates in Pilot Aptitude/Psychometric Test.
Commitment Money: All Selected Candidates including SC / ST / OBC will be required to pay commitment money of Rs. 2 Lakhs which is non-refundable but adjustable against the total fee, to secure their seat.
Shortlisted Candidates can also opt for B.Sc. (Aviation) Degree from Chatrapati Sahu Ji Maharaj University Kanpur, being conducted simultaneously with CPL Course. Duration of this course will be 3 years.

Application Fee is Rs. 6000/- for general and OBC candidates. SC & ST candidates are exempted from payment of application fee. The Application Fee is to be paid either through internet banking, debit or credit cards or through a demand draft.

Demand Draft is to be taken in favor of ‘Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi’, drawn on State Bank of India, payable at Fursatganj or any bank in Raebareli. Those making payment through demand draft will have to fill the draft details in online application form as per instructions.
Before filling of the Online Application, the Candidate should keep ready (i) scanned Recent Colored Photograph (maximum file size of 80KB) (ii) Payment details related to Application Fees (either UTR Reference Number in NEFT transaction or Demand Draft Details).
A valid e-mail id and Mobile Number is mandatory for the submission of Online Application. This e-Mail id and Mobile number should be kept active till the declaration of results. Important information with regards to application and examination will be sent on this registered e-Mail/Mobile number.
Candidates are required to register with Personal Information such as Name, Date of Birth, Email id and Mobile Number. Applicant ID / Passwords will be sent on Email id / Mobile Number. Candidates may save this password for future access to the website for downloading Admit Cards/ Result etc.
To continue filling up the Application Form, applicant must login with details received on Email id / Mobile Number. After successful submission of the form, Application Form can be printed by clicking tab. Additional tab on the Right Corner will appear to download Admit Cards / Schedule for Interview / Aptitude Tests / Final Result.
The particulars mentioned in the Online Application in each stage including Name of the Candidate, Caste Category, Date of Birth, Address, Email-ID, Mobile No. etc. will be considered as final. After the submission of the online application at each stage, candidate will not be able to edit/delete any fields of the Online Application.
Those who remit fee by DD, should forward the demand draft with application details such as Registration Number, Name written on backside of the Demand Draft, along with a printout of their application form to IGRUA through speed post or DTDC Courier, to reach latest by October 25, 2015. The candidature of such candidates will be confirmed only after receipt of demand draft at IGRUA. In case, Demand Draft is not received by IGRUA by 25th October 2015, candidate will not be able to download the Admit Card.
Admit Cards: Admit Cards can be downloaded on or after 1st November 2015. Admit cards will also have the interview and aptitude test schedule and will be valid only if the candidate is shortlisted in written test, so that the applicants may plan their visit to IGRUA for Interview/Aptitude Test in advance.
Result of the written test will be published at the website on or after 16th November 2015.
Interview/ Viva & Pilot Aptitude Test starts on 7th December 2015.
The final list of shortlisted candidates after Aptitude Test / Psychometric Test / Interviews will be available at Website / Emails / SMS on or after 20th December 2015.
TA to SC/ST Candidates:
SC/ST candidates will be reimbursed only once 2nd Class to and fro rail fare on production of tickets from their registered address to Raebareli to appear for Interview/Pilot Aptitude Test.
Selected candidates may join with class II medical. However they will have to clear & submit Class-I Medical Fitness Certificate subsequently. List of Centers/Doctors for Class-I & II medical is available at http://www.dgca.nic.in/medical/c1exam-ind.htm
Training fee: Training fee is Rs. 32.5 Lacs payable in four quarterly instalments. The case for levy of service tax is subjudice and if confirmed by Court, the candidate will have to pay subsequently the same at applicable rates. Additional expenditure for about Rs. 1.50 Lac will be there towards cost of Uniform, Study Material, Navigation Computer, Head Phones, DGCA/ RTR Examination and License fee. Boarding & Lodging:
Separate Hostels are available for boys and girls. Messing and hostel accommodation within the campus (on twin sharing basis), is provided. The Charges will be approximately Rs. 8000/- per month.
