CBSE asks schools to re-conduct exams for failed students of Class 9 and 11
New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a notification to all schools affiliated to it to hold re-exams for those students who failed in Class 9 and 11.
As per the notice issued on May 13 by CBSE, all the failed students of 9th and 11th standard are to be provided a fresh opportunity in all subjects they failed even if they were given one earlier.
Schools can conduct online/offline/innovative tests and decide promotions on the basis of these tests, the order said.
The board noted that some schools are not providing the students with an opportunity to appear for re-exams to improve their final scores. CBSE has insisted that all schools must comply with the decision regarding the improvement exams.
