Apply now: Notification out for various pre-matric scholarships
The Union Ministry of Minority Affairs and Kerala State General Education Department has called for applications to various pre-matric scholarships.
Applications can be submitted online through National Scholarship Portal (NSP).

Minority pre-matric scholarship
Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Jaina, Buddhist and Parsi students from classes 1 to 10 can apply. Government, government-aided and recognised private school students are eligible. Annual income limit: Rs 1 lakh per annum.
Minimum 50 per cent mark in previous year’s annual examination. However, this is not necessary for this year for the renewal applications.
A maximum of two kids from a family can apply.
Pre-matric scholarship for differently-abled students (Students with Disabilities)
Students of classes 9 and 10 and with at least 40 per cent disability can apply. Annual income cannot exceed Rs 2.5 lakh per annum.
National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS)
Class 9 and 11 students with at least 55 per cent marks and class 10 students with at least 60 per cent marks are eligible to apply. A five per cent relaxation in the marks will be given for SC/ST students.
Annual income limit: Rs 1.5 lakh per annum.
“The student should be studying as a regular student in government, government-aided and local body schools. There is reservation as per State Government norms.”
One student can apply for only one scholarship. Providing the number of the bank account in the name of the beneficiary student, and its IFSC code will make the process easier.
