Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Thiruvananthapuram has invited applications from Prathiba Scholars of KSCSTE, for admission to the two-month visiting programme to be held during summer 2018 there, enabling them to work with IISER faculty.
Bachelors and Masters Students who are Prathiba Scholar in Science, with an inclination towards research in Basic Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics) can apply for the programme. Preference will be given to 2nd year BSc and 1st year MSc (or equivalent degree) students.
Applications can be submitted online by 11.59 pm on 15 March 2018 at the link available at http://www.iisertvm.ac.in
Applications can be submitted to one school only. Applicant will have to choose 3 faculties (1 faculty in case of Mathematics), in order of their preference, in the respective school where he/she would like to work. Every effort will be made to assign a faculty requested by the candidate in the choice sheet during application, but it is not guaranteed. Hence it is possible that the selected candidates may be assigned different faculty.
Two reference letters from teachers who know the candidate well enough to write with candor, detail and objectivity about the candidates academic and personal achievements and potential should be completed online directly by the referees on or before 15 March 2018. For this, an email will be sent to each referee upon submission of the application by the candidate, with a link to submit their reference letter.
Instructions for submission of application are available in the notification and website. Accommodation between 15 May and 25 July, 2018 and mess facilities will be provided at nominal cost.
List of selected candidates will be published at http://www.iisertvm.ac.in on April 10, 2018. Selected students will be intimated by email. Those selected will have to send their acceptance by e-mail by April 20, 2018.
