Indian Army has invited applications from unmarried male citizens for admission under the 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme Course commencing in January 2020, leading to Permanent Commission in the Army. There are 90 vacancies. Applications should be unmarried male citizens of India (with exceptions given in the Notification), who have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM).
Applicant must not be below 16 ½ years and above 19 ½ years on 1.1.2020. Applicant should not have been born before 1st July, 2000 and not after 1st July, 2003 (both days inclusive).
Applicant should have passed 10+2 Examination or its equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 70% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from recognized education boards. Eligibility condition for calculating PCM percentage of various state /central boards will be based on marks obtained in Class XII only.
Applicant must be in good physical and mental health and free from any disease/disability which is likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties. Details of the medical requirements are given in the Notification at http://joinindianarmy.nic.in/Applicant should not have been debarred from appearing in any examination by UPSC and should not have been arrested/convicted by a criminal court or involved in any court case.
Training: Total training will extend for 5 years which includes Basic Military Training for 1 year and Technical Training with Phase-I (Pre Commission Training) extending for 3 Years and Phase-II (Post Commission Training) of 1 year duration. The candidates will be awarded Engineering degree after successful completion of the final examination. Cost of Training will be borne by State but will be recovered from candidates withdrawing for personal reasons which will be Rs 8785/- per week (or as notified from time to time) for the period of candidate's stay at the Officers Training Academy, Gaya/Cadet Training Wing.
Application: Application has to be submitted online at http://joinindianarmy.nic.in/, latest by 8th June, 2019. An applicant may make changes to data filled incorrectly in online application, till the closing of online applications. The candidate must ‘submit’ his application each time he opens his application for editing. After successfully submitting the form, the candidate will receive a confirmation in the form of a dialog box of having submitted the application. Print out of the application with a Roll number will be available to the candidate 30 minutes after the closing of online applications. Candidates are required to print two copies of the application with Roll Number generated by the system. One copy of the print out application duly self-attested by the candidate has to be carried to the selection centre for the SSB interview. The second copy of the printout of online application is to be retained by the candidate for his reference. There is no need to send any hard copy of application printout to Directorate General of Recruiting.
Selection Procedure: The application will be screened at Directorate General of Recruiting, integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Army). Integrated HQ of MoD (Army) will shortlist applications based on cut off percentage as decided and the candidate in the short lis will be detailed for Service Selection Board (SSB). After short listing of candidates, the Centre allotment will be intimated to the candidate online. After allotment of Selection Centre, candidates will have to log in to the website and select their SSB dates on a first come first serve basis.
Only shortlisted eligible candidates will undergo SSB at one of the Selection Centres- Allahabad (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bengaluru (Karnataka) or Kapurthala (Punjab) by Psychologist, Group Testing Officer and Interviewing Officer. Call Up letter for SSB interview will be issued by respective Selection Centres on candidate's registered e-mail ID and SMS only.
Candidates will be put through two stage selection procedure. Those who clear Stage I will go to Stage II. Those who fail in Stage I will be returned on the same day. Duration of SSB interview is five days and details of the same are available at the official website of Directorate General of Recruiting http://joinindianarmy.nic.in/. This will be followed by a medical examination for the candidates who get recommended after Stage II.
Candidates should carry copy of the print out application duly self-attested by the candidate and (i) Class 10th certificate / mark sheet in original showing DOB (ii) Class 12th Certificate / mark sheet in original (iii) ID proof in original along with 2 self-attested photocopies of the certificates (iv) 20 copies of self-attested PP size photograph when reporting for the Interview. The originals will be returned after verification at the SSB itself.
Candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit, will be issued joining letter for training in the order of merit, depending on the number of vacancies available.
If selected, candidates are not to marry until they complete their full training. A candidate, who marries subsequent to the date of his application, though successful, will not be selected for training. A candidate who marries during training shall be discharged and will be liable to refund all expenditure incurred on him by the government.
