10+2 Technical Entry in Indian Army: Apply by September 9
Applications have been invited by the Indian Army for admission to the 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme course commencing in January 2021, leading to the grant of Permanent Commission in the Army.
Eligibility: Applicant should be unmarried males not be below 16½ years and above 19½ years on 1 January 2021 (Should not be born before 2nd July 2001 and not after 1st July 2004 (both days inclusive).
Applicant should have passed 10+2 examination or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) securing a minimum aggregate of 70% marks in PCM in Class XII.
Applicant should satisfy the Medical Standards as prescribed and given at www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.
Selection: Applicant will be shortlisted based on cut-off percentage of marks fixed by the Indian army. Those short listed will be called for Service Selection Board (SSB) Interview by Psychologist, Group Testing Officer and Interviewing Officer to be conducted at one of the Selection Centres- Allahabad (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bengaluru (Karnataka) or Kapurthala (Punjab). Candidates will be put through two stage selection procedure. Those who clear Stage I will go to Stage II. Those who fail in Stage I will be returned on the same day. Those who get recommended after Stage II will undergo medical examination. Those recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit, will be issued joining letter for training in the order of merit, depending on the number of vacancies available. There are 90 vacancies (provisional).
Training will be for a total of 5 years and will include (a) Basic Military Training of 1 year (Officer Training Academy, Gaya) (b) Technical Training in 2 phases with Phase-I (Pre Commission Training) of 3 Years [College of Military engineering (CME) Pune or Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE) Mhow or Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME) Secunderabad] and Phase-II (Post Commission Training) of 1 year at CME Pune or MCTE Mhow or MCEME Secunderabad.
On successful completion of 4 years of the course, cadets will be granted Permanent Commission in the Army in the rank of Lieutenant. Candidates will be awarded Engineering degree after successful completion of the final examination.
