Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, has invited applications for admission to the ‘Weekend Indian Film Music Appreciation Course’, to be conducted by it, in association with National Film Archives of India (NFAI), Pune, during April 2018.
The aim of the 4-day workshop, spread over two weekends, is to take the participant from the coming of sound in Indian cinema to its golden age in the 1950’s to present day trends.
The workshop would also highlight the invaluable contribution of great composers, lyricists, singers, choreographers and filmmakers who were all able to combine together and take song picturis ation to an art form.
The duration of the course is 2 weekends; Saturdays & Sundays on 7th & 8th and 14th & 15th April 2018, from 10 am to 6 pm with one hour lunch break from 1 to 2 pm and the venue will be National Film Archive of India (NFAI) Auditorium, Near Doordarshan Kendra, Kothrud, Pune
No. of participants will be limited to 150. The course will not be conducted if there are less than 100 participants.
Applicant must be an Indian and must have attained 18 years of age as on 1 April 2018. Medium of instruction will be English/Hindi.
The fee for the course is Rs 2,000/- per participant which is to be paid by way of a Demand Draft to be drawn in favour of ‘Accounts Officer, Film & Television Institute of India, Pune, payable at Pune.

The filled application with the Demand Draft of Rs 2,000/- attached, should reach in person or by Speed Post, ‘Prof. Sandeep Shahare, National Coordinator, Skilling India in Film & Television (SKIFT), Film & Television Institute of India (FTII), Law College Road, Pune-411004’, latest by 5 pm on 27th March 2018 in an envelope, super-scribed, ‘Application for Weekend Indian Music Film Appreciation Course’, at the left top end of the envelope.
Selection will be on First-Come-First-Served basis. Selected candidates would be communicated by email/ phone. Course fees of the selected candidates will be non-refundable. Demand Drafts of all non-selected candidates would be returned within 7 days of the commencement of the course.
On successful completion of the course, participants would be given participation certificates subject to 90% attendance.
