National Testing Agency (NTA) has invited Online Applications for National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test [(NEET (UG)] - 2023 for admission to the undergraduate medical courses in all medical institutions in India.

NEET UG 2023 will be of 200 minutes (3 hours 20 minutes) duration and will be held from 2 pm to 5.20 pm (IST) in cities in India and abroad.

The Entrance Test shall consist of 200 multiple choice questions (four options with a single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry, Botany & Zoology with 50 questions in each subject that will be divided into two Sections -A and B, with 35 questions in Section A and 15 in Section B. Candidates will be required to answer all 35 questions from Part A and 10 questions out of 15 from Part B. Each correct answer carries 4 marks while each incorrect response will result in loss of 1 mark. NEET (UG) - 2023 will be conducted in 13 Languages-English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. The choice of medium of question paper has to be given at the time of applying.

Eligibility: Applicant should have generally passed the Higher/Senior Secondary Examination/equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and Mathematics or any other elective subject and English as a subject. Those who have passed the qualifying examination from National Institute of Open Schooling or State Open Schools or as private candidates from recognized State Boards; or with Biology/Biotechnology as an additional subject shall be allowed to appear for NEET UG 2023 subject to the outcome of Special Leave Petitions/Appeals filed in this regard. Those appearing in the qualifying examination can also apply.

Applicant should have secured an aggregate of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology at the Qualifying Examination (40% for SC, ST, OBC-NCL and PwBD). Those with some other qualifications can also apply, the details of which are given in the Information Bulletin.

To qualify in NEET UG 2023, applicants must obtain a minimum of marks at the 50th percentile (40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC and 45th percentile for PwBD applicants of Unreserved Category & GEN-EWS Category).

Application: Applications can be submitted online at https://neet.nta.nic.in/ latest by 9 pm 6.4.2023.

Applications fee is as follows: General Rs.1700/-; General-EWS/ OBC-NCL- Rs. 1600/-, SC/ST/PwBD/Third Gender – Rs. 1000/-. For those choosing a centre outside India, the application fee is Rs. 9500/- for all categories.

The fee can be paid online using Credit/Debit Card/Net-Banking/UPI, latest by 11.50 pm on 6 April 2023.
