Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited applications for the National Defence Academy & Naval Academy Examination (II), 2023, for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA and Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) commencing on 2nd July, 2024.
The approximate number of vacancies to be filled based on the results of this examination will be 395, as follows: (i) National Defence Academy: Army - 208 (including 10 for female candidates), Navy - 42 (including 03 12 for female candidates), Air Force - Flying - 92 (including 02 for female candidates), Ground Duties (Tech) - 18 (including 02 for female candidates), Ground Duties (Non Tech) - 10 (including 02 for female candidates) (ii) Naval Academy (10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme): 25 (including 07 for female candidate).
Applicant must be unmarried male/female and must satisfy the conditions on Nationality given in the detailed Notification at http://upsc.gov.in
Applicant should not have been born earlier than 2nd January, 2005 and not later than 1st January, 2008.
For Army Wing of National Defence Academy, applicant should have passed 12th Class under the 10+2/equivalent examination. For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy, applicant should have passed 12th Class under the 10+2/equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Those appearing in the 12th Class or equivalent examination can also apply.
Scheme of Examination: Examination will have 2 papers each of two and a half hours duration having objective type questions. The paper on Mathematics will carry 300 marks and the paper on General Ability will carry 600 marks. There will be penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the Objective Type Question Papers. Syllabus of the examination is given in the Notification.
Those short listed based on the examination will be called for SSB Test/Interview carrying 900 marks. The SSB procedure is a two stage Selection process. Stage I comprises of Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests are Picture Perception - Description Test (PP&DT). Candidates will be shortlisted based on combination of performance in OIR Test and PP&DT. Only those candidates who clear the stage I are permitted to appear for stage II. Stage II Comprises of Interview, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests and the Conference. These tests are conducted over 4 days. Candidates, excepting those exempted from payment of fee, are required to pay a fee of Rs. 100/- either by remitting the money in any Branch of State Bank of India by cash, or by using Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card/UPI Payment or by using internet banking of any Bank. ‘Pay by Cash’ mode option will be deactivated at 23:59 hours of 05.06.2023.
Facility of making correction(s) in any field(s) of the application form will remain open from 07.06.2023 to 13.06.2023.
